Eamonn Holmes spent this Christmas with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander - and he showed his dedication to her by driving for four hours to her family home.

The GB News presenter, 65, who recently sparked engagement rumours with the counsellor, 43, arrived at her home up North in the in the small West Yorkshire town of Mirfield. Eamonn, who lives in London, split with his estranged wife Ruth Langsford earlier this year. Since then, he has been linked to Katie, and things are only continuing to get more serious between the two of them.

After splitting from Ruth after 14 years of marriage, Eamonn spent his first Christmas with Katie and her extended family. The former This Morning star was pictured being helped out of his vehicle by Katie as the pair finally arrived in her hometown. Despite having to use a walking aid amid his chronic pain battle, Eamonn appeared in high spirits as he rang in Christmas Day with his new girlfriend.

In pictures obtained by The Sun, Eamonn beamed alongside Katie who looked chic in a pair of blue jeans, a navy cardigan, and a striped shirt. She finished off her Christmas Day look with a pair of suede brown boots as she smiled while walking alongside Eamonn.

According to an insider, Eamonn was excited about spending the festive season with Katie's family - but along with that excitement came nerves.

"Eamonn headed to Katie’s home for Christmas to show just how loved-up he really is," a source told The Sun. "It was a 4½-hour drive from his bachelor pad in London. He’s met Katie’s two younger children before, but turning up at their home was still nerve-racking.”

The TV presenter is reportedly planning on spending a few days in Yorkshire before returning to his own place in South West London.

Meanwhile, Eamonn's ex-wife Ruth, 64, had her first Christmas without him. The Loose Women star announced her split from talk show host Eamonn earlier this year.

Since their separation, Eamonn has moved on with new girlfriend Katie, while Ruth has been relying on the support of friends, including Rylan Clark. In October, an insider told OK! that Ruth is "dreading" the holiday season and knows the first will be the "hardest", and she "just wants to get through it."

However, it's not just her break up that could be troubling Ruth, as she previously revealed to Woman and Home Magazine about another family change involving her 22-year-old son Jack.

Ruth wrote: "I see Christmas changing every year. Although Jack’s not yet been at his girlfriend’s for Christmas, I’m sure the time will come. Then I’ll have to take a big gulp and go, ‘That’s lovely, darling. Of course, it’s absolutely no problem.’ But, of course, I’ll be dying inside."
